Mouse hole repair

There’s something about those early 20th century cotton prints that you just have to love. While there is not always an exact vintage match available for a cotton print, you can see below how closely a match can be made.

If there happens to be a scrapbag packed away with your quilt, please bring it or send it with your quilt for the evaluation, or check through it yourself first. There may be left over, identical fabric scraps the quiltmaker saved!

Matching Cotton fabrics:

Pretty close match.  I call this GOOD.

Close enough, I think.

2 lower diamonds are worn through.
One is a red dot on white, and the other is a purple & orange floral..

Original fabric is faded, but the colors, background design, overall flavor of the fabric is similar.

Not bad...I’ll use this one, too.

Nope, I’ll keep looking for a better yellow . . .

After replacement and re-quilting.

Replacement fabric was purposely “faded” to more closely agree with the tone of the original piece and surrounding area.
